This selection is written in a Renaissance style. The melody uses patterns of 1, 2+, 3, 4 and also 1+, 2__, 4+ throughout the piece. The low brass and low woodwinds have entrances with rest, rest, 3+, 4+ leading into the next phrase. Upper woodwinds have an ostinato pattern verses melodies in the brass. The tenor drum (snares off) plays basic rhythmic patterns. There are a few sections where the triangle is the only percussive pulse. This is a very playable selection with very few traps!
